Introducing those lovable characters… Old Bob & Uncle Teddy… The Boys from Piskahegan…
Inducted into the New Brunswick Country Hall of Fame in 1999, Old Bob (Dean Mott) and Uncle Teddy (Frank Hartt) have been entertaining young and old alike for the past 20 years. They have shared the stage with Joan Kennedy and Gordon Stobbie, opened a couple of times for Jimmy Flynn, and have been regulars on the NB Country Showcase.

Having been one of New Brunswick's best keep secrets, until now… they have finally decided it was time to come out…. Of the ole two-holer. They'd like to share their unique Down-east, Maritime country charm and humor on a grander scale.

For the past several years they have performed extensively on the convention circuit in the southern, central, and western parts of NB. They would like to expand their audience and share with you the experience of spending an evening with Ole Bob and Uncle Teddy. Who knows where they might show up?

They deliver their fast-paced, energetic, and visual comedy, through skits, songs, jokes, impressions, and stories. This approach has been proven and sanctioned by the Surgeon General of Piskahegan to definitely lower blood pressure, tickle your funny bone, and reduce stress at all levels. It's just what the Doctor ordered, says their spiritual adviser, Father Parish. He has also commented they are "angels sent clean from the Piskahegan" with a special purpose, to make people laugh, enjoy the moment and themselves. Now what more could two happy-go-lucky Down-east country boys ask for…eh…?

Old Bob and Uncle Teddy will poke fun at politics, their neighbors, the weather, bodily functions, city livin, themselves, and compare all that to everyday life in the "The Piskahegan."

And where's Piskahegan??? you may ask. Well really it's anywhere they want it to be, especially where there's good old country livin with all those simplistic country values and charm that we all love and cherish so much.

Not to miss an opportunity to engage the audience into their act, Old Bob and Uncle Teddy will often invite folks to join them for some hand-clappin, foot-stompin, sing-a-longs and some hilarious on-stage improvising skits…if they're willin. And wait til you see "The Boys "pick someone from the audience for their famous "Initiation ceremony into the very prestigious Fraternity of Piskaheganers". A popular part of their act, it's had them rollin in the aisles!!!

If your convention, festival, or private party committee is interested in an evening of good old Down-East Maritime musical-comedy, with a twist, then Old Bob and Uncle Teddy would fit that bill and gladly entertain you.

What Folks are Saying About Old Bob and Uncle Teddy:

"Old Bob and Uncle Teddy have joined the board and staff of York Credit Union for our Christmas Party twice in the last 3 years (we managed to keep the site a secret from them the second year).
There are many things we can guarantee about their performance. We guarantee they will make you feel like a sharp dresser. We guarantee they will make you realize how important going to school was. We guarantee they will make you realize the importance of your mother's insistence that you put on clean underwear before you leave the house. Most important, however, is that we can pretty much guarantee that you will be entertained.
Their sense of humor is great and just twisted enough to make you pleased that you did not marry into their family. Their act is original, their rhythm is stilted, and they are fun to be with. Your fellow "partyers" will also be offered lots of opportunities to participate, should they dare. Please enjoy the services of this fine local duo, Old Bob and Uncle Teddy."
-Dennis Williams, GM, York Credit Union.

THE MADCAP BOYS FROM PISKAHAGEN
Growing up listening to the Duke of Paducah, Judy Canova and Dorothy Shay and having seen Homer and Jethro, Lonzo and Oscar in their prime I'd say unequivocally…now there's a word for the Boys to bandy about…that I have never seen a zanier act than Dean Mott and Frank Hartt, alias Old Bob and Uncle Teddy, the Boys From Piskahegen.
Over a number of years I've witnessed entire audiences literally doubled up in their seats with laughter by their outlandish antiques, highly original wit-less-isms and repartee. My grade six teacher used to say: "there are two kinds of funny…funny ha-ha and funny peculiar."
Well Frank and Dean are both. There's nothing they won't do to tickle a funny bone no matter how daring or far out…within limits of good family country entertainment, of course. They play, sing, prance, dance, do acrobatics, write the most ingeniously god-awful songs I've ever heard but no full frontal buff stuff although they might forget to button a union suit back flap now and then!
Take warning though, no-one's safe when they're about. Even in the audience you can suddenly, completely by surprise, become involved in some highly original madcap hi-jink of the Boys from Piskahegen, Old Bob and Uncle Teddy.
-Gerry Taylor, New Brunswick Telegraph-Journal

"You know… it's been a long time since somebody made me laugh…Good luck boys. By the way "Where the Hell is Piskahegan anyway". Ha Ha…"
-Jimmy Flynn (The one and only)

"I can SAFELY say from experience that Old Bob & Uncle Teddy will put every effort in providing your convention with lots of good old Down East country humor."
-Jim Steen, Chairperson, NB Safety Symposium.
